This is a laptop that I have been hoping to get for a long time. It is my first "Old World" Mac in my collection and it has been a joy to set up and use. It has an 8GB CompactFlash card in it, a 133MHz PowerPC 603e processor, and 16MB of RAM. It is a "cs" model, meaning it has the passive matrix display, which I find greatly adds to the charm of the device overall.

This is a computer that I ordered upgrades for as soon as I received it. I upgraded the 1.3GB spinning hard drive to an 8GB CompactFlash card and a 4GB CompactFlash card as well (I already have a CompactFlash PC card).

Using this machine has been a treat, albeit was a bit of an adjustment in the beginning. The 603e and 16MB of RAM (which has since been upgraded to 40MB) were very different from the (originally) 128MB of RAM and G3 processor of my previously lowest-spec Macintosh, my iBook G3 (Dual USB). The keyboard is amazing and I have actually written the first draft of a novel on it as part of National Novel Writing Month in 2021. I do plan to buy a battery and a CD drive for it, as the battery was leaking and I only got a floppy drive with it initially.

Given this has no on-board network card, I, after much struggle, was able to obtain an Orinoco WaveLAN Silver card that worked correctly with the laptop. I was also able to obtain an add-in card that adds a video port to the rear of the machine - the NewerTech ViewPowr 1400/16
