The Performa 450 (also, and probably more commonly, known as the LC III) is an amazing little machine I've had the pleasure of getting to know. It was a birthday gift from some friends of mine and I'm in love with it already, it is also my first 68k-based Mac and has the lowest RAM ceiling of any Mac I own (36MB, with the next lowest being my PowerBook 1400 at 64MB). It has already been recapped and had a BlueSCSI installed with System 7.5.3 and some games loaded on from the seller. It also has a 10baseT Ethernet card occupying the PDS.
Getting the machine configured to my liking was a relative breeze, with the biggest issue being that I was having trouble getting the Ethernet to work, only to try setting my switch to 10Mbps half-duplex after an embarrassingly long time of not being able to figure out what was wrong.
Future plans for this machine include trying things such as MacMINIX out (as that requires a 68030 or earlier, if memory serves), and then also playing around with other things that may not be possible (or at least as easy) on more modern systems.
